As a result of the enormous interest and support from educators across the country, Altitude Publishing has launched a Junior Edition series of select Amazing Stories™ titles edited for a grade 4/5 reading level. These true stories celebrate Canada and Canadians in a format that appeals to younger readers.
For teachers with mixed ability classes, these 12 titles (and many others) are also available at a grade 10/adult reading level in our original Amazing Stories™ series. The basic content of the chapters within the books is the same at both reading levels. What changes is how the content is presented. In the junior editions, simpler sentence structures, controlled vocabulary, and active voice are used to reduce the reading level and make information more accessible. What does this mean for your students? They can all read the same title, but they can read the level that best suits their reading ability.
